Exodus 8:1-11
It's all about image. Truth does
not matter. Reality is what
you make it. Perception is everything.
At least that's what the culture says!
There was a TV commercial sometime
ago for a particular antiperspirant
that supposedly kept you dry. The slogan
was “Never let them see you sweat!”
The ad showed people in
stressful situations who appeared
calm and collected because of no sweat.
Yeah right. Anyway, the idea was
if you looked calm and in control,
people would perceive that you are.
I guess that was Pharaoh's idea when
Moses asked him when he wanted
Moses to get rid of the frog plague.
His response was, “Tomorrow.”
Seriously? Frogs everywhere -
in the pantry, on your bed,
in your living room - and
you'll take one more night of that?!
Maybe he wanted to appear unshaken
and still in control, but we all should
know that God is the one in control.
God exalts the humble but humbles the proud!
Confess sins and surrender to God.
Don't spend another night with the frogs!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to see our
situations as they really are
when we do not follow You -
out of control and hopeless.
Lead us to confession, repentance,
and new hope in Christ with
Your power in our lives.

There is no power above or
